The Beginning

New Hope School started from humble beginnings with 33 learners, 14 staff members and 2 housemothers operating from the old St. Peters Hostel in Murray Street, Brooklyn, Pretoria. In 1979, a new school building totalling R1,8 million was built on the current site. The school was named after the farm’s homestead called “New Hope”.

Today, New Hope School has 417 learners, offering education services from Grade RRR to Grade 12, Life-and Vocational Skills are also offered. We cater for learners from diverse cultural backgrounds, each with their own unique challenges such as cerebral palsy, physical disabilities, traumatic head injuries and specific learning disabilities (such as ADHD and ADD).
